Am I the only one who feels sympathy for Bush?

It seems to me that the only thing Bush has ever really wanted is to be liked, and becoming president should have solved that for him. He just lacked the real skills of leadership and wisdom to execute the office well, wound up incredibly unpopular, and I think he's going to have a pretty hard time emotionally for a while now.
