What did Mark Antony gain from Julius Casar's death?

He gained a shot at being Imperator (Emperor) after Caesar's death. With no superior keeping him in line, he suddenly had more power. Caesar's relative Octavius (later Augustus), however, would later go on to defeat him at the Battle of Actium. Octavius would become the first emperor.
