Does anyone think modern version of Great Expectations starring Ethan Hawkeand Gwenyth Paltrow was ist?

I have to say that I totally disagree. I do not think of this movie as ist at all. Although, I has been a while since I have watched it. I am not sure why you think the movie was degrading to women and I would love to hear your logic on that. I think that Estella did love Finn, but she had a power over him(in the movie he was called Finn AKA finnagen-not pip) and she knew it. I think that she lorded it over his head, she diffently had the power--although bitchy, it is kindof empowering to women!
