Why can't I be as profound in person as I am on here?

I'm not saying that I am really profound or anything, but I think I do say some things that seem to have deep thought; however, in person I sound and seem like a complete incompetent fool. Plus I'm never taken very seriously and I am constantly being called out for being sarcastic when I am being serious and not sarcastic.
