I have a feeling that he just sees you as a good friend that he can feel comfortable talking to, at least for now. Now that can be a good thing and a bad thing. If he was as awkward as you were in those conversations then I don't think it would have ended very well. However, that can also mean that he just doesn't look at you that way. I once had this friend-boy who I liked until he told me that he just broke up with his girlfriend. And I've been flirting with him! And I realize now that he was a player and he knew that I was just too smart to play his game. But, hey. That's just me. It's all about what feels right. So just trust your instincts.
