I would say yes he likes you. Maybe he is just shy or not sure how you would react if he did something in front of the other guy and he doesn't want to be embarred. I would say either give him time or ask him if he would like to go see a movie or go bowling after rehearsal. Im sure the emails are to show interest and to get to know you more.
