Why was Paula Goodspeed obsessed with Paula Abdul?

Why was Paula Goodspeed obsessed with Paula Abdul? I'm female and I don't like celebrities- especially the female ones. With all of their glamour and makeup artists and hair stylists- they make ordinary women (like me) look plain : ( I know they wouldn't look that pretty without their makeup artists, expensive clothes, and hair stylists. I try to ignore celebrities- most of them are stuck-up and they don't care for ordinary people.
