My boyfriend called in?

My boyfriend got in trouble for back talking his boss at work and was suspended for a week. He is suppose to resume work tomorrow, however, I just found out that he called in to say he wouldn't be coming in ( so he could snowboard ). I called him a loser among other things. Do you think that I am justified in doing so? Any advice?
