Bench Press Machine Question.?

Hi so I've lived in two different apartments in the last two years and both have a gym. In the gym they have a bench press machine and some other weight lifting machines. On the machines you can choose how much weight you want the weights say 1,2,3,4,ect. i wanted to know if these are intervals of 10(lbs) or 10(kgs) or what. It doesnt say on it all it says is 1,2,3,4 ect. If it helps i'm 5'8 145 pounds and bench the 14 level.
