Why are Evangelical Christians hostile and disrespectful towards other religions?

i personally think it is not a matter of emotions, it is more a group theory we against the world, we are better than other people, as most religion islam and christianity they believe that there is only one supreme way to heaven and it is through their messiah that is the truth. I used to be religious and i notice every sunday that people knowing that they are the only one doing the right thing and the rest of the world are sinner and would burn in hell gives a lot of people comfort as it is like they are fighting the war against the world, which makes the religion more worthwhile, i don't think alot of religion would have people hooked if they knew they could gain salvation, redemption or eternal life (call it whatever you want to call) from another branch or another group. i just think it just human to think we are better than other people like atheist thinks believer are gullible people and muslims thinks that christians are sinners, evangelican thinks catholics are nut jobs, i don't know but i think a lil bit of hatred or saying something terrible toward another person is just makes people feel better about themself like a racist joke or being racist!
