Why does my neck hurt?

Throughout the day my neck has been fine,but around three pm it started hurting, so that I cant turn it to the right side. It hurts on my right, the dent just below my head, where a pulse is. It hurt before, like four months ago, same place but on my left, and also on my shoulder blade.
